Lunch & Dinner
Served Monday to Saturday, 12–2.30pm and 6–9pm. Pies, fish and chips, steaks from the grill, and a proper vegetarian option that isn’t an afterthought.
A proper local at the heart of Barrowfield — real ale, home-cooked food and a warm welcome, with a private function room for the days that matter.
Your local
Log fire in the winter, garden in the summer, and the same faces at the bar most nights of the week. The Five Ways Inn has stood at the crossroads since 1842, and we run it the way a village pub ought to be run — well-kept beer, food cooked in our own kitchen, and nobody rushed out of their seat.
You’ll find four hand-pulled ales, a proper wine list, dogs welcome in the bar and snug, and a Sunday roast worth getting out of bed for. Whether you’re after a quiet pint and the paper or a table for twelve, you’re very welcome.
Food & Drink
Pub classics done properly, a specials board that changes with what the local butcher and greengrocer bring us, and a Sunday roast that books out most weeks.
Served Monday to Saturday, 12–2.30pm and 6–9pm. Pies, fish and chips, steaks from the grill, and a proper vegetarian option that isn’t an afterthought.
Served 12–5pm. Beef, pork, chicken or the nut roast, all the trimmings, bottomless gravy. Booking strongly advised — we do sell out.
Four cask ales including a rotating guest, a short but decent wine list, local gin, and soft drinks that aren’t an insult to the driver.
Allergies & dietaries
Full allergen information is available at the bar — please speak to a member of the team before you order. We can adapt most dishes, and we’re happy to cook something off-menu for guests with particular requirements, including at private functions.
Booking a table: call 01234 567 890 or email hello@thefivewaysinn.co.uk. Tables of eight or more are best booked at least 48 hours ahead.

Funeral Receptions
We are a six-minute drive from Barrowfield Crematorium, with a private room, our own car park, and staff who have done this many times before.
You will have the function room to yourselves, with its own entrance so your guests don’t walk through the bar. We’ll be ready before you arrive — tea and coffee poured, food set out, coats taken — and we’ll keep out of the way once you’re settled.
If a funeral director is arranging things on your behalf, they can deal with us directly. We work regularly with local funeral directors across the area.
01234 567 890 — ask for the manager. Tell us the date, roughly how many people, and the time of the service. That is genuinely all we need to hold the room.
We’ll talk through food, drinks and timings, and put it in writing so there are no surprises. Nothing is fixed until you say so, and there is no deposit to pay.
The room is set before your first guest arrives. Bar bill on account, settled at the end or invoiced afterwards — whichever is easier for the family.
